Lacamas Community Credit Union, the first credit union established in Clark
County, started when a small group of mill employees applied for a charter
in 1936 to organize a federal credit union. Their vision was to offer a
convenient savings plan, while helping workers avoid borrowing money from
loan sharks. Their vision became a reality on January 18, 1936,
when they held their first board meeting and officially became known as
Crown Willamette Camas Employees Federal Credit Union.
Lacamas Community Credit Union remains committed to the credit union
philosophy of "People Helping People."
Today, LCCU serves individuals and businesses in SW Washington with over 15,700 members,
